The Shakespeare Ensemble Compact
This document describes the role, responsibilities, and members of a governing body for The Shakespeare Ensemble.
Those whose names are listed at the bottom of this document will be considered Governing Members, or members of the governing body of The Shakespeare Ensemble.
The Ensemble includes other members who take part in projects and other activities but don't choose to take part in governance-related decision making. Nevertheless the presence and activities of these non-governing members is vital to the functioning of the Ensemble. The use of the term “members” in this document should be taken to refer to those who've chosen to take part in governance activities, and not to exclude any other members of the Ensemble-at-large.
Governing Members agree to the following terms:
- They will participate in the Ensemble's decision making processes regarding matters of governance.
- They agree that governance decisions will be made by consensus of the Governing Members.
- Status as a Governing Member will be valid until a Governing Member communicates to the Ensemble that they no longer desire to have that status.
A new Governing Member can be added to the list by the consensus of the current Governing Members.
Here are the names of the Governing Members of the Shakespeare Ensemble, in free association according to the terms above:
